Es soll ja tatsächlich Restaurants geben, die für Monate ausgebucht sind. Insbesondere in New York ist es nicht leicht, einen Tisch zu bekommen. Für die Stadt, die niemals schläft, hilft TableXchange, ein neuer Marktplatz für den An- und Verkauf von Tischreservierungen. Als (hungriger) Käufer kann man in den Angeboten stöbern und so die freie Reservierung im gewünschten Restaurant finden. Nachdem man die Reservierung per Klick gekauft hat, erhält man den Namen, auf den reserviert wurde. Ein kurzer Anruf im Restaurant ist dann noch notwendig, um den reservierten Tisch zu bestätigen. Welchen Preis der Verkäufer der Reservierung festlegt, bleibt ihm Überlassen, jedoch helfen ein paar Preisrichtlinien einen sinnvollen Betrag festzulegen. Dieser hängt natürlich u.a. vom angebotenen Restaurant und der Anzahl der Personen ab. Zur Zeit liegen die Preise für Reservierungen zwischen $15 und $40. Bei einem erfolgreichen Verkauf werden 12 Prozent Gebühr an TableXchange fällig, die Abrechnung erfolgt über PayPal.
